On February 5th, Buckingham Palace, the seat of power for the British Royal Family announced in a statement that King Charles III, 18 months into his reign as King of Britain, is currently undergoing and was diagnosed with cancer, the type not being disclosed to the public. However; the statement did make it clear that the treatment had no affiliation with the recent surgery he had for an enlarged prostate. The statement says, “His Majesty has today commenced a schedule of regular treatments, during which time he has been advised by doctors to postpone public-facing duties.”
On February 11th, the king appeared in public for the first time since the reveal of his diagnosis, with him entering St. Mary Magdalene’s Church, located at the Sandringham House with his wife and current queen, Camilla. During this sighting, he was seen waving to the public.
