Recently the Youtube star Matthew Patrick otherwise known as “MatPat” has announced his retirement. January 9 MatPat posted his “Goodbye Youtube” video and had an emotional goodbye to fans, while also explaining what will happen to his channel after March 9, 2024. His reasoning behind giving up the channels is to spend less time on his work, and more time with his family. However, this won’t be the last we see of MatPat, he will be replaced as host by a different member of the Theorist Team for each channel, while still retaining a creative role and making cameos on the channels, along with GTLive. He closes his video by saying, ” It’s just a theory… A game theory!” a bittersweet ending to a little more than a decade of making theory videos for the public.
