Christmas Music: Too Early or Too Late?
Early! The answer is as early as possible. The cheer that Christmas sources should be shared swiftly. Christmas music covers themes that can resonate with a person on any random date. “Mistletoe” by Justin Bieber on his album, Under The Mistletoe contains universal lyrics that appeal to everyone. One lyric off “Mistletoe” is as follows: “With you, shawty, with you” and it speaks to people wanting to find connection in a lovely world. Christmas music is the gift that keeps giving, and anyone should be able to receive that gift whenever they want. Anyone who doesn’t listen to Christmas music early needs to be put on the naughty list and personally talked to by Santa himself. And Tim Allen. Tim Allen too. Don’t be a grinch. Be happy and joyful and listen to Christmas music early.
Christmas is arguably the most popular holiday so it makes sense its music would be widely celebrated. However is it really appropriate to listen to it more than 2 months before Christmas day?
I say that Christmas music should be contained within the month of December. Most people enjoy the music but I have a difficult time listening to the same 5o songs for two months. People should not be subjected to these joyous songs on repeat, much less for months on end. The official start of Christmas should be the beginning of December. This would align with all the other holidays and their respective months. Halloween gets October, Thanksgiving gets November, and Christmas gets December. Keeping the holidays separate like this ensures no overlap and no one will be fatigued from the rampant holidays.
