Traffic on Harrison Bridge Road and Fairview Road intersection in the morning.

Other than Woodruff road, the intersection of Fairview Road and Harrison Bridge Road is one of the busiest in the city. We have contacted the city planner and inquired about any plans to minimize traffic, and reduce the number of accidents. There was no response, so we were not able to verify if any plans had been made. There have been rumors of a proposal to reduce the traffic on Main Street in Downtown Simpsonville, so there is hope that the intersection may be next. Recently, there has been a barricade placed near Target to reduce left turns which has slightly lessened the traffic, but it has made leaving the parking lot much harder. It is almost guaranteed to hear a siren responding to an accident while driving on Fairview Road. The unplanned rapid growth in the area has made it difficult to accommodate for the surplus of traffic. Businesses bordering the two roads have said the activity brings in more customers, especially around five in the afternoon when traffic is heaviest. Perhaps in the future, the city will think of a way to alleviate the traffic congestion, and the amount of accidents without affecting the businesses on the side.
