Should you miss this? Nope!

Nope is a 2022 Western-thriller movie directed and written by Jordan Peele, following the story of the Haywood family and their horse-wrangling business. Starring Keke Palmer as Emerald, Daniel Kaluuya as OJ, Keith David as Otis, and Steven Yeun as Jupe, we learn about both Jupe’s backstory and the mystery in the sky that killed OJ and Emerald’s father. The chemistry between the actors is impeccable and the visual effects are stunning. The story behind it may be confusing at first, but the symbolism is very satisfying when you put all the pieces together. The scenes in the movie show great passion both behind and in front of the camera; the multiple long takes that were used were impressive to say the least. It seems that people can’t get enough of this dark comedy! One of these fans, Camille Jenkins, finds this movie to have a combination of “dark humor and analyses of social constructs”; its sinister plot able to keep you on the edge of your seat. The twists and turns are well thought out, as are the scares which never feel cheap. So, is this a bad movie? Nope!
