Best Buddies International is a nonprofit organization dedicated to “establish a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment, leadership development, inclusive living, and family support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).” (bestbuddies.org) Hillcrest is one of the 63,184 high schools that partners with the organization to foster those one-to-one friendships and achieve the goal to impact over 4 million people. One way this organization fosters in the fun is through many national events, such as the Best Buddies Friendship Walk, Best Buddies Leadership Conference, and Best Buddies Champion of the Year. On the local level, Hillcrest hosted a Best Buddies Prom on March 27, 2025. There were so many smiles, impressive dance moves, and all around fun.
