The latest Marvel installment, Captain America: Brave New World, has swooped into theaters faster than you can say “Vibranium shield.” Anthony Mackie dons the star-spangled suit as Sam Wilson, the new Captain America, navigating a world filled with political intrigue, mind control, and—wait for it—a Hulk-ton.
The plot thickens as President Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, played by none other than Harrison Ford (yes, Indiana Jones traded his whip for the Oval Office), discovers a new metal called adamantium. Cue a whirlwind of events involving mind-controlled attacks, a trip to Celestial Island, and Ross hulking out in a fit of rage.
But what did our fellow Hillcrest High students think?
Sophomore Nick Fann was less than impressed, stating, “It was boring, and I didn’t like the main antagonist.”
On the flip side, Jerrelle Anthony couldn’t contain his enthusiasm: “I loved it! It was a cinematic masterpiece.”
Critics seem to be as divided as our classmates. Some praise the film for its political thriller vibes and character development, while others feel it’s a convoluted mess that doesn’t quite hit the mark.
So, should you sprint to the theater like Quicksilver or stay home and rewatch Endgame for the umpteenth time? The jury’s still out. But hey, if you’re into political drama, mind control, and a dash of Hulk-induced chaos, this might just be your cup of gamma radiation.
