Spring sports are gearing up for the start of a new season, and with the new season comes a sport that’s on the rise across the country: lacrosse. To learn more about Hillcrest Lacrosse, we spoke with Anna Montjoy.
First, we asked what she believes has contributed to lacrosse becoming one of the fastest-growing sports in the country. She replied, “I think lacrosse is one of the fastest-growing sports because it is finally getting attention. Lacrosse started as being popular up North and now it’s starting to get bigger in the South, especially because Clemson now has a Girls’ Lacrosse team.” It’s clear that lacrosse is on the rise, and should given attention by any sports lovers.
Next, we asked why people should attend the lacrosse games. “People should come to lacrosse games because it is a fast-paced game that is high scoring, and we would love to pack the stands and have a student section!” Anyone who wants to see a fast-paced game with lots of action should look to Hillcrest’s social media pages or website to find the team’s schedule.
Lastly, we asked how this season will be different from last year. Montjoy answered, “I think this season is going to be very different than last season because we have two new awesome coaches. I think we have improved so much as a team and our confidence has grown, and it has definitely shown in practice and on the field.” The lacrosse team will surely bring fun and gripping games this season!
