The Hillcrest High School Student Council elections are coming up, and it’s your chance to get involved in shaping the school year! On March 11th and 12th, students will have the opportunity to vote for their next Student Council members. Whether you want to represent your class or just want to make a difference, these elections are a great way to have your voice heard.
If you’re interested in running for a position, make sure to attend one of the mandatory meetings on March 5th at 8:15 a.m. or March 6th at 3:45 p.m. in Room 307. These meetings will cover everything you need to know about the election process and what’s expected of candidates. To run, you need to show up to one of these meetings and get the necessary paperwork. It’s a simple but important step to be considered for a position on the council.
Student Council plays a huge role in the Hillcrest community. The Student Council is responsible for representing the student body, planning school events, and bringing new ideas to life. From dances, to school spirit days, to charity fundraisers, the Student Council is often the driving force behind these initiatives. Being a part of Student Council means you get to make an impact on the school you love and create experiences that everyone can enjoy.
Participating in Student Council also gives you a chance to develop leadership skills, work with others to solve problems, and leave a lasting legacy at Hillcrest. It’s a great opportunity for anyone looking to grow personally while giving back to their school community.
Students are buzzing about the qualities they’re looking for in their candidates. Sophomore Nick Fann said, “I would want someone with leadership skills and a good attitude, like Krish Patel.” Another student, freshman Vanessa Turner, shared, “I would like to nominate someone who has a good personality and is chill with the students.”
So if you’re passionate about making Hillcrest a better place, don’t miss your chance to run! Attend the meetings on March 5th or 6th to get started, and make sure to vote on March 11th and 12th. This is your chance to be part of something bigger and help shape the future of our school!
