The book is all about the games for Haymitch Abernathy in the Second Quarter Quell, 24 years before the settings of the first Hunger Games book. This book has been highly anticipated for some time, after fans caught wind of what Haymitch’s games were actually like.
It is known that the Second Quarter Quell doubled the number of tributes from 24 to 48, selecting four teens from each district instead of two. Haymitch was chosen to represent District 12 as one of the 4 and was sent into an arena that was absolutely gorgeous. Everything about the space is picturesque, with perfect clouds in a bright sky and flowers surrounding the Cornucopia, as described by Katniss during the book Catching Fire. Fans are expectant for March 18, and can’t wait to see more details about the book, and movie adaptation.
