The Hillcrest High Marching band recently went to the Furman Invitational Band Day. Many students participated in playing, marching, and activities with the Paladin Regiment. Students arrived early to practice stands-tunes with the Furman band, and got to know some of the college people. The football game was all sorts of fun, with students showing out their school spirit, and an actual knight on horseback being on the field. The Paladin Regiment crushed their pre-game performance, performing the FU Fight Song, Star Spangled Banner, and honoring a football player’s legacy who recently passed away. Students from all over the Upstate, North Carolina, and Georgia came to Furman to perform along side the Regiment. After playing the opener of Furman’s show “Chick-Flick,” almost a hundred students took the field to perform Bruno Mars’ “Locked out of Heaven.” Thank you Furman for a wonderful experience!
