On April 9th, 2024 a group of North Koreans released a song by the name “Friendly Father”. The song is ultimately about Kim Jong Un and his North Korean citizen’s unwavering faith and praise for him. It goes on to state Kim Jong Un as a “friendly father” and a “great leader”, which people are suspecting is just a part of a propaganda drive to enhance his standing in the reclusive state. Kim Jong Un seems to be a fan of this song though because not only was the music video for the song aired on the state-controlled Korean Central television on Wednesday but also a live performance of this song was broadcast with a live orchestra and watched by Kim Jong Un himself. The Music video for this song had North Koreans of many different ages ranging from children all the way to seniors all singing happily about their “friendly father” Kim Jong Un.
