Hey fellow rams! Did you hear about your fellow band rams making their way to compete in CPA? While you might be wondering if you haven’t heard, what is CPA? CPA stands for Concert Band Performance Assessment and all we really do is practice about 2 songs maybe 3 one being a warm up piece band directors can optionally do. You practice for a good while and then you go play in front of judges to get a score on it and then you get scored on sight reading. All sight reading is a judgment on how your band can play a piece of music you’ve never practiced before.
But a little more information is that there are rankings you can get at CPA. They are kinda like trophies but instead of trophies we get little plaques with our score on it. The scores range from Superior, Excellent, Good, Fair, and Poor. superior is the highest you can get while poor is the least you can get. But anyways your hillcrest band rams got a score of superior! We knew we would do our absolute best and it seems we hit the nail right on the head!
If you ever see a fellow band ram out in the halls try giving them a high five to congratulate them on this achievement!
