On Thursday, January 25th in the auditorium, Stacey Ashmore and Autumn Hightower from Just Say Something put on a great presentation about the dangers of vaping and cigarette usage among everyone, but specifically high school-aged children. Open to all, the presentation was filled with thought-provoking facts that showcase the dangers of vaping and smoking. Some of the best were: 16.7% of high schoolers in South Carolina vape and one cigarette contains seven-thousand chemicals. This evidence is just a small part of the problem regarding the dangers of smoking.
In World War II, tobacco was encouraged as being healthy, but because of years of rising evidence and people like Stacey and Autumn spreading the word about the dangers of these products we began to open our eyes.
Thank you to Stacey Ashmore and Autumn Hightower from Just Say Something for coming to Hillcrest High School, answering the questions of concerned parents, and showing care, concern, and compassion regarding the students’ safety and the safety of others.
