Most people know by now the beef that runs between Gen Z, Gen Alpha, and Millennials. But in this article we’ll be talking about the differences between Gen Z and Gen Alpha.
Starting with the most obvious difference, Gen Z are those born between 1997 to mid- 2010s while Gen Alpha is those born between late-2010s to 2024.
Gen Z is perceived as a lazy and phone addicted generation but while searching through some articles I found some say that Gen Z is independent, has a social consciousness, and are adaptable.
In contrast, Gen Z’s first thoughts about Gen Alpha would probably be that they’re annoying and slow. But again in an article I had read it states that Gen Alpha is creative, Innovative, and they also are adaptable.
While looking for more information I ran across many tiktoks that talked about how Gen Alpha is being raised on technology without much parental supervision. And because of this they are more rude and much less educated than for instance Gen Z when they were their age. But this isn’t all because of Gen Alpha but also because of their Millennial parents. Millennials are not giving their kids the attention they need and because of this Gen Alpha is consuming things on the internet that they probably shouldn’t be watching at their age and/or having addictions to certain things on the internet because of these long amounts of time they can have on these electronics.
But when it comes to Gen Z, around their childhood electronics were big but not as big as they are nowadays. For instance when Gen Z looks back into their childhood they can think of hanging out at Chuck E Cheese or having sleepovers or even just chilling at home watching VHS tapes or DVDs.
But also when it comes to Education between the two generations, we can see a big gap in their intelligence levels. But it’s not all Gen Alpha and Gen Z’s fault but also the school system. You see, the school system is always changing and nowadays most Gen Alphas can’t even read because of how schools changed how they are teaching the younger generation how to read.
So yes, there’s many differences between Gen Z and Gen Alpha, but there’s differences between all the generations. It’s just that now these differences are truly starting to show.
