Eleven days ago the actor strike in Hollywood ended on November the ninth after starting on October the second. This strike came with a general cease of work and refusing to work and advertise movies they were in and was on at around the same time as the writer strike earlier this year. These strikes shut down Hollywood for months and is the reason you may be seeing an influx of movie announcements and movies only now coming out.
The actor strike was caused for a multitude of reasons. the first of these reasons was a rather common reason for striking. The actors wanted pay raises and the companies they worked for refused to come to the table. The second was less common. The actors were worried about AI taking their jobs as companies began to talk of taking full-body pictures of actors and using AI to digitally to put them in movies thus being paid only once for appearing in multiple movies.
The writer strike was less shrouded in modern issues and stemmed mostly from low pay, poor working conditions, and disagreements between writers, actors, and the companies they worked for. The writers like the actors and do not work to picket lines in order to be seen.
All of this came to a tenuous end eleven days ago when the companies and unions for the actors and writers came to agreements and the workers got better conditions and mostly got everything they asked for.
