It has been only 6 days since the attack from the militant group Hamas that led Israel to declare a formal state of war. We at HHS Rampage wrote an article on October 16th and here is the update to that article. Since The last article, the Israel conflict has evolved.
Amidst the growing violence and fighting between the Israeli Defense Force and Hamas, the Gaza Health Ministry has stated that the death toll has surpassed 5,000 casualties. The fighting has evolved as Hamas has taken hostages and the fighting in the urban setting has grown deadly as the IDF engages Hamas. In addition to the fighting in the Gaza Strip, Israeli forces have begun to strike the West Bank and skirmishes have erupted on the Lebanese border. The Gaza Strip has been sealed off by Israel, as such, they are not receiving water, fuel, or electricity leading to hardship on the civilian population. In the midst of this lack of resources and fighting Egypt began to send aid convoys to Israel. The second these convoys has just reached Gaza and according to Israeli officials the convoy was checked thoroughly before it was allowed through, the true results of these convoys are yet to be seen as the the situation is evolving every minute. As such a growing fear of a wider conflict is becoming more common amongst the populace.
Also evolving every second is the geopolitical situation that surrounds this conflict. United States President Joe Biden Flew to Israel to speak with Israeli’s minister not five days ago and has since left and has since said that the United States stands with Israel. The major powers of the world are all looking at this conflict and are taking sides with Palestine or Israel and this choosing of sides raises concerns that these countries could send troops to aide both countries which could add gasoline to the fire if these foreign troops were too come into contact each other leading to an armed conflict between global powers with Israel caught in the middle. As previously stated, the situation is constantly evolving and we at the HHS Rampage are monitoring the situation and will keep supplying updates.
