On Saturday, October 7, 2023, Hillcrest Red and Black Brigade took the field at Gaffney High School. The stadium lights shone on the faces of the proud and determined band members, and they played their show with everything they had. The band had their best run of the season thus far, and it paid off.
During awards, the band members held their breath as they began to call placements for their division at Saturday’s competition. Cheering filled the stadium when Hillcrest was announced second place in their division. The band increased their score from the previous week’s competition. The hard work the band has been putting in for the last several weeks has really paid off, and we are excited to see what is to come in the last month of the season.
