Horrible things happen to the best of us. On September 27, 2023, Sir Michael Gambon died at age 82. He was in the hospital with pneumonia with his family by his side. 

This man has played in many movies and theatrical productions, but he was most known for playing Albus Dumbledore in the Harry Potter movies, as well as Gandolf in Lord of the Rings. He was a beloved friend to his fellow actors from the Harry Potter movies, and many of them have spoken up since his death last week. Several of the main cast members talked about how much they admired him and how he was a role model in their lives. The cast had deep personal connections with Gambon, and are feeling his loss heavily. 

I am personally saddened by his death because I hold the Harry Potter movies close to my heart. I have watched them for many years, and to know that one of the most important characters’ actors has passed away is heartbreaking. Michael Gambon is a greatly respected actor and I hope he rests in peace.
