House Speaker Kevin McCarthy is opening an impeachment inquiry against President Joe Biden, regarding his family’s business dealings. Biden has allegedly been involved in his son, Hunter Biden’s, international business dealings. Republicans have accused Biden of profiting from his son’s business dealings while he was serving as vice president. However, no evidence of misconduct has been found to incriminate Biden, and The White House says that there is no basis for impeachment seeing as Biden has done nothing wrong. Due to the timing of the impeachment accusation, many think this is a rebuttal by Former President Trump, who is facing his own impeachment trial, and a tactic to help him in the upcoming 2024 election.
