To begin with, I have been wanting to watch this movie for many months, and I would like to say I was pleasantly surprised at how good it actually was. We open the movie by seeing a school ceremony that introduces the main characters, the outright way that these youths are represented is absolutely masterful. You get to know them, cheer them on, worry about them, and even cry with them. I would like to bring to view that it is a very slow paced movie, and there are even times where I was slightly disturbed by the actions the boys committed to even though they knew they could get into trouble with the school. Mr. Keating, the teacher, has a very unique way of teaching his students by stating, carpe diem or seize the day. He wants his students to think for themselves, even when it seems they live in a world with their lives are already planned by the people in charge. We could all learn from Mr. Keating and seize the day, every day.
