Fry Shape Crossfire – Thin Fries are Thick in Greatness

Bonnie-Marie Allmendinger, Staff Reporter

Although there are many fry shapes that accompany the fast food industry, however, there is one that stands out as superior: the standard thin fry, as seen at McDonald’s. Due to its small stature, the thin fry is able to fry perfectly and provide its consumers with a flawless crunch. On the other hand, it is not uncommon to have soggier thin fries, which provides those who prefer a more potatoey fry their proclivity. The thin fry is also the perfect shape regarding salt – it is not yet large enough to hold an inane amount, but it is also not small enough to where there is no salt and all potato. There is a reason the most popular item at McDonald’s is their fry, the thin fry is simply perfection. Although other fries, such as the crinkle cut, provide fun shapes there are not many other benefits to them. They often become too soggy to be enjoyable. Therefore, the thin cut fry is not only the most popular style of fry, but it is also the best option.
