Girl Scout Cookie Season is BACK!

Girl Scout Cookie Flavors

For more than 100 years, Girl Scouts and their enthusiastic supporters have helped ensure the success of the iconic annual cookie sale—and they’ve had fun, developed valuable life skills, and made their communities a better place every step of the way. This cookie season has brought many new and tasty cookies such as the Adventurfuls, and the Rasberry Rally! Every purchase supports Girl Scouts who make the world a better place—one box of cookies at a time. In 1917, Girl Scout cookies started off at 26 to 36 cents per box depending on what the ingredients were. But since 2015, cookie boxes have grown in price exponentially. They are now 5 to 6 dollars a box. According to Tammy Gentry, vice president of marketing for the Girl Scouts of California’s Central Coast, “The council sees the increase as an opportunity to offset natural price increases for running the cookie program — from the cost of raw materials and bakery production to transportation.”

The cookie flavors consist of Raspberry Rally which is thin, crispy cookies infused with raspberry flavor, dipped in a chocolate coating, Adventurefuls which consist of indulgent brownie-inspired cookies topped with caramel flavored crème with a hint of sea salt, Caramel Chocolate Chip which are gluten-free! They consist of chewy cookies with rich caramel, semisweet chocolate chips, and a hint of sea salt. Caramel deLites or Samoas are crisp cookies with caramel, coconut, and chocolaty stripes. Do-si-dos or Peanut Butter Sandwich is a crunchy oatmeal sandwich cookie with peanut butter filling. Girl Scout S’mores were introduced in 2016. They are crunchy graham sandwich cookies with creamy chocolate and marshmallow filling. Lemonades are savory, refreshing shortbread cookies topped with tangy lemon-flavored icing. Similar to Lemonades, there are Lemon-Ups which are crispy lemon cookies baked with inspiring messages. Peanut Butter Patties or Tagalongs are crispy cookies layered with peanut butter and covered with a chocolaty coating. Thin Mints are crisp, chocolate cookies dipped in a delicious mint chocolate coating. Thin Mints are by far the most popular flavor of Girl Scout cookies, outselling every other variety by the millions. Toast-Yay! are yummy toast-shaped cookies full of French toast flavor and dipped in delicious icing. Toffee-tastic is gluten-free! They are rich, buttery cookies with sweet, crunchy toffee bits. Trefoils or some people might call them Shortbread are iconic shortbread cookies inspired by the original Girl Scout cookie recipe.

Why do some cookies look the same but have different names? Each Girl Scout council contracts with one of two licensed bakers, whose recipes and ingredients may differ slightly: ABC Bakers and Little Brownie Bakers. That’s why some of our cookies look the same but have two different names. Whether the package says Peanut Butter Patties or Tagalongs, or Samoas or Caramel deLites, the cookies are similarly delicious. When you buy Girl Scout cookies you are creating opportunities for Girl Scouts to learn, grow, and thrive. From learning how to interact with customers to creating budgets and taking orders, the Girl Scout Cookie Program teaches Girl Scouts invaluable skills that they’ll need to succeed throughout their lives. The best way to buy cookies is to order them directly from a local Girl Scout. To find out if cookies are currently being sold in your area, contact your local Girl Scout Council.
