The World Series is “ the annual championship series of Major League Baseball in the United States and Canada, contested since 1903 between the champion teams of the American League and the National League” (World series Definition & Meaning).  Now that this every-year ritual of one of the most popular sports in the world has passed for the year 2022, We must recap. The winners of this year’s World Series were the Houston Astros. The Astros win the title over the Phillies. This will be the Astros second title in franchise history and the first since 2017. On October 28th the score was the Phillies with 6 and the Astros with 5, on October 29 the score was the Astros with 5 and Phillies with 2, on November 1st it was the Astros with 0 and the Phillies with 7, November 2 the Astros had 5 and the Phillies with 0, on November 3, the Astros had  3 and Phillies had  2, and in the final, on November 5th the Astros won with 4 and Phillies with 1. Now we must talk about how the Astros pulled off this win with a 4-1 margin, the Astros have to thank clutch late-inning home runs from left fielder Yordan Alvarez for bringing home their second title in the last six years. The 25-year-old left fielder who has been in the league since 2019 ran it home for the Astros in the final giving them the win. Now as we wait for next year’s series, we must celebrate the Astros and their amazing title-winning game.
