Hurricane Ian is a Category 4 storm anticipated to hit the coast of Florida. Ian will be the worst storm the Tampa Bay area has seen in almost one hundred years. The hurricane is expected to impact South Carolina on Friday with heavy rainfall and a cold front which will stick around during the weekend. Meteorologists say since Hurricane Ian will be hitting Florida first, it is likely we will not see exponentially high winds that one might expect from such a strong storm, but there is a chance it will trigger severe thunderstorms, and some minor tornadoes. Charleston is expecting four to six inches of rain, vigorous winds, and a possibility of tornadoes or waterspouts. High wind surges are expected to travel inland in Florida, as well as power outages across the state, and major flooding. Ian has already hit Cuba, leaving the island without power and at least two deaths. Stay safe this weekend, and away from the coast.
