Everyone is afraid of something, however having a phobia is totally different from just standard fear. John Hopkins Medicine states a phobia is “an uncontrollable, irrational, and lasting fear of a certain object, situation, or activity. This fear can be so overwhelming that a person may go to great lengths to avoid the source of this fear.”Some phobias include; Arachnophobia the fear of spiders, Ophidiophobia the fear of snakes, Acrophobia the fear of heights, Aerophobia the fear of flying, Cynophobia the fear of dogs and, Trypanophobia the fear of injections. Physical activity and exercise may help manage anxiety related to specific phobias . Techniques could be relaxation techniques, such as deep breathing or yoga. These activities may even help deal with physical symptoms of anxiety and stress.
