If you’ve been on the internet at all, you’ve surely heard the name “Markiplier” floating around. Becoming a YouTube content creator in 2012, Mark Fischbach established himself in the platform with “Let’s-Play” videos of games like Five Nights at Freddy’s (2014), Happy Wheels (2010), and Getting Over It (2017). He has built up his name and fanbase greatly, now sitting at over 34 million subscribers on YouTube. He has a great impact on many people, young and old, giving his all while making content. In recent years, he has worked on many large projects, such as his podcast with fellow YouTubers Bob Muyskens and Wade Barnes, Distractible. He has his own interactive video projects as well, using video cards at the end of each video to give the watcher a choice in where the story goes. Projects such as A Heist With Markiplier (2019) and In Space With Markiplier, parts one and two (2022), have done amazing with its audiences, massing over 60 million views collectively. The latter was one of his biggest projects, including a large crew and having many twists and turns, plus two musical numbers. This hunger for bigger projects has brought Fischbach to the world of Hollywood, as a teaser trailer for Iron Lung just released today on Markiplier’s channel.

Based on the 2022 indie-horror game of the same name, Iron Lung follows an unnamed convict as he traverses an ocean filled with blood on AT-5, a barren moon in outer-space. The character explores while inside of a rusty, metal submarine, expectedly named the Iron Lung. This first-person immersion game was developed by David Szymanski, and released with heavily positive reception. One fan of the game who was deeply interested in the concept was Markiplier himself, who played through the game less than a year ago. In the last few months, Mark has teased his fans with an upcoming project, something less interactive than his previous works, but bigger nonetheless. It was revealed today that this would be an official Iron Lung movie directed by Markiplier, with Szymanski having a huge role in the making of the movie. Markiplier will also be acting, playing the role of John Iron Lung, with friend and fellow YouTube star, Jacksepticeye (Seán McLoughlin) voicing the part of Voice on Speaker #2 (Szymanski). The movie will be scored by Andrew Hulshult and is set to release sometime this summer, though a specific date is unknown. Mark has made tireless effort to create fun content and spread his love and passion through his work over the last decade. Because of this, I’m sure the movie will be so much fun to watch, and impressive to say the least!
